Inspiring vocations

The operation has three main objectives: to change the way the French look at France's foreign policy; to highlight the role and challenges of the European Union for French diplomacy; and to draw on the expertise of those involved in international action, from diplomats and operators to NGOs, researchers and, above all, "all those who contribute to the international influence of our country in all fields (culture, sport, art de vivre, tourism, media)".

The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs will be holding its new rendezvous at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris (Nation campus) on September 5 and 6. This major event will bring together around the Ministry "all the stakeholders in France's international action", in a "spirit of transmission, education and innovation". It will be a "unifying moment internally" and, at the same time, a "demonstration of the diversity of talent among our compatriots". For, as the organizers emphasize, this major annual event is also intended to encourage vocations among the younger generation.

Best practices and diplomatic actions

To showcase all the facets of diplomacy, the event will feature a variety of events: high-level meetings and conferences, simulations of international negotiations and other immersive experiences, as well as more playful moments.

Aimed at students, the diplomatic community and, more generally, the public interested in foreign policy, the program for this first edition will focus on six major themes: protecting, representing, communicating, deciphering, promoting and negotiating. Six themes to be discovered through a journey of diplomatic practices and actions.

A journey to the heart of diplomatic action

This tour is punctuated by a variety of formats, major events and activities:

  • the Forum de la Fabrique, a space open to all, featuring leading players to debate the major issues in international relations;
  • the Workshops, thematic roundtables with diplomats, researchers, students, entrepreneurs, elected officials, representatives of civil society...
  • Exercises de la Fabrique, immersive, interactive experiments in the practice of diplomacy;
  • Speed dating, scheduled direct exchanges with diplomats and business leaders;
